August taught me one thing: life gets interesting when you stop overthinking and SAY YES. And if we’re being honest? Yamaha makes saying yes way too easy. They’re the GOAT of unforgettable firsts. 🏍️

Test driving the Yamaha WaveRunner - because who doesnt love a good marine moment 🌊

Trying off-road biking - still shaking at the thought of it lol 🏍️

A sibling date that turned into a whole adventure, because why are kids half our age out-riding us? 👯‍♀️

Some of it felt good, some of it humbled me, but all of it reminded me that the best stories start where your comfort zone ends.

You don’t need a forever bestie to prove you’re whole. You’re not broken if friendships fade. You don’t own people, but you do own your growth.

So see every new season in friendship as an opportunity to grow 💖 - and welcome new love when it knocks, i promise you’re fine.

In high school I thought choosing the wrong subjects would put me on the road to failure forever. I was terrified of aptitude tests, scared they’d hand me the wrong answer. But here’s what I’ve learned: no single choice defines your whole life. Every road — even the wrong ones — can still lead you to where you’re meant to be.

You’re gonna starve if you choose that career! What if your dream job doesn’t pay well? Then you build a PLAN that does.

Passion isn’t supposed to replace practicality, it’s supposed to push you in a direction that creates practicality.

Don’t let rejection or slow rewards convince you your dream isn’t valid, because any dream worth realizing is going to take hard work.

#005 What if my best still isn’t good enough?

✨ Giving your best doesn’t guarantee the door will open — and that’s the hardest truth to swallow.

Not because you weren’t good enough, but because sometimes people already decided how they want to see you… or forces outside your control shape the outcome.

So don’t take every rejection as proof you’re lacking. Your best is still building you, even if it wasn’t received the way you hoped.

Playing small because you’re “shy to be seen trying” is a form of self-sabotage ✋🏾. To half-try, half-dream, half-believe — because if we don’t give it our all, then failure won’t sting as much.

But here’s the truth: protecting yourself from the pain of failure by never fully showing up is just another form of fear. And fear is the thief of everything you say you want.
If you’re brave enough to dream it, be brave enough to risk going all in. Because half-assing your way to your dreams isn’t “playing it safe”… it’s self-sabotage.

Competing in Miss South Africa was the bravest thing I’d ever done (after leaving engineering obviously 🤣).

Not only was I going after my dream, but I was doing it publicly. After over 1 million views on my Twitter entry, I made the Top 30 and that was the end.

Was it the outcome I had hoped for? Gurl, no. But did that process teach me something? Yes! A lot about myself and the things I thought I wanted to be a part of.

Through that process I learned the extent to which my personality had magnetic pull and realized that I wanted to be an entertainer, than a pageant queen.

While both can co-exist, that ✨failure✨ gave me information that allowed me to pivot and find myself on Joburgs most loved radio station a year later — and even that experience (while it was the outcome I wanted) taught me a lot about how far I was willing to go in order to have a career in entertainment.

So win or lose, you gain feedback, so be more concerned with your data capturing speed than your scoreboard.
